CSD Munich Pride

Freedom, diversity, queer self-determination. Munich&#;s LGBTIQ* community is entering the season with a fierce motto. Pride Week begins on June &#;Times are hard enough,&#; says Thomas Niederbühl, political spokesperson for the Munich Pride. It doesn&#;t need another gloomy motto. Liberté Diversité Queerité, on the other hand, confidently gets straight to the point and is definitely meme-worthy. &#;We won&#;t let extremists and populists take away our celebration in who we are and our zest for the life we lead. We celebrate it!&#;

This year&#;s motto is linked to demands that the Munich Pride had already raised as part of the German Pride&#;s nationwide campaign for the federal election (&#;Vote Love!&#;): &#;We are always concerned with legal equality and promoting social acceptance of lesbians, gays, bisexuals, trans*, intersex*, and queer people,&#; says Julia Bomsdorf, spokesperson for the Munich Pride. &#;This must apply even more in times of increasing attacks against queer people and their institutions.&#;
