My fabulous gay wedding

‘Fabulous’ gay grads to wed on TV

When Mischa Bartkow, Comm ’03, went to party it up at Alfie’s four years ago, he never expected the learner constable inspecting his ID would be the man he would one day marry on a reality TV show.

“Dan checked my ID and we had a bit of eye contact,” Bartkow said. “For the rest of the night, we couldn’t retain our eyes off each other.”

“For our first date we went to the Sleepless Goat and ended up on a highway trip to Ottawa that night,” he recalled. “We totally missed all the turns for Ottawa and ended up in Montreal—we were that enthralled with each other.

“It was very, very intense right away.”

Bartkow and Dan Dumsha, ConEd ’03, told the Journal they have been inseparable since then.

Engaged only a week after their magical road trip, they finally wed in March on the Global TV program My Fabulous Gay Wedding. The episode will air July 6.

Hosted by Scott Thompson of Kids in the Hall fame, the reveal follows a team of event gurus as they plan a gay or lesbian wedding in the span of two weeks.

Not only did Bartkow and Dumsha meet and fall in

    My Fabulous Gay Wedding

My Fabulous Gay Wedding is a new demonstrate that hit the Canadian airwave for the first time last night. It is hosted by Scott Thompson and it was definately a funny show.

Last night, Scott and his Minnions were planning a wedding for this gay couple and He wanted to give them a scottish theme wedding. He went to the couple's apartment wearing the kilt, Prince Charlie Jacket and vest. and Yes, he had a bagpipe as well. Apparently, he knows how to play!!!

ALthough the couple wanted to get married in Tux, but the wardrobe consultant dragged them to Hector Russell Toronto for kilt fitting. But One of them wasn't sure about the kilt. He was pleased with it, but once he was told that he doesn't need to wear underwear, he turned around and loved the idea.

The one disappointment of the show is that Scott Thompson managed to fetch Ashley McIssac to achieve at the wedding, but he performed in his pants!!

    My Fabulous Gay Wedding

My Fabulous Gay Wedding is a Canadian reality show hosted by comedian Scott Thompson in the first season and Elvira Kurt in the second. The series airs on the Global Television Network. It is re-broadcast in the U.S. as First Comes Adore, on Logo. In the first season, the demonstrate features a same-sex couple that plans to marry; the arrangements for the wedding are prepared, on two weeks' notice, by a team of wedding planners who are both heterosexual and homosexual. As with typical, Western heterosexual weddings, the general notion is to create a unique experience that reflects the personality of the people to be wed, while adding a exceptional gay sensibility. The essence of the program is one of fun. In the second season, with new host Elvira Kurt, the stories concentrate more on the couples than the wedding planning process. The team of wedding planners has been reduced to one: Fern Cohen. This season debuted on Logo in February Through interviews with the family members, the show also explores the issue of same-sex marriage and its effect on the social fabric.
