Fitness guru Richard Simmons on Tuesday turned to Facebook to put an conclusion to rumors that he is in the process of transitioning.
Last week, The National Enquirer published a story saying that Simmons had a &#;shocking sex swap surgery to change from a man to a woman&#; and was living under the identify Fiona.
In his Facebook post, Simmons denied the report, saying, &#;Some tabloids have recently falsely reported that I am transitioning. In response, I feel compelled to set the record straight and refute these lies.&#;
He went on to add a message of solidarity with the LGBTQ people and the victims of Sunday&#;s Orlando, Fla., nightclub massacre. &#;We should not lose focus on showing love, strength and empathy to all of the LGBT community during these tragic times,&#; Simmons posted. &#;My broken heart and healing thoughts are with the people of Orlando and all other victims of prejudice, bigotry and hate.&#;
