New look and ideas for Rotorua's queer bar
Rotorua's 'rainbow bar' Shampers is relaunching this weekend in a command to cement its place as the hub of LGBT nightlife in the Bay of Plenty. This Saturday evening from 9pm, the bar's Relaunch Party will feature shows by drag queens Suffer from Gloriousole and Crystal Chandelier, music by DJ Kara-Lee, and new local talent. Shampers' website is now online, sporting the venue's brand-new logo and event plans. An upcoming pageant called 'Miss Shampers Bay of Plenty' will crown the region's uppermost drag talent, while movie nights, ladies hours, and a travel club are also planned. Auckland is sometimes called the "City of Sails" thanks to the big number of sailboats always on view in its gorgeous harbor—making good use of the country's warmest and sunniest urban climate.
WELLINGTON
Move over, Chicago—the world's true Windy City is Wellington, thanks to its position on the strait separating the North and South Islands. The capital of Fresh Zealand, adorable Wellington is also its second largest city—and despite what Aucklanders may tell you, it's considered the country's cultural capital as
