‘Barbie Girl’ artists and Romania’s Eurovision singer in Parade BCN
Pride! Barcelona, one of the biggest Mediterranean LGBTQI+ pride events, will welcome ‘Barbie Girl’ artists and Romania’s Eurovision singer. The celebration will focus on the lesbian collective as organizers have announced the new social campaign on Wednesday to increase representation for lesbian women.
The campaign, under the name #Bollomami, "wants to bring to light the different realities and identities in the lesbian community, as adv as the inequality and invisibility lesbian women suffer," as the press launch reads.
From June 13 to June 26, Pride! Barcelona will return to its usual site, on Avinguda Maria Cristina, next to the Montjuïc fountains. Organizers expect to recover attendees figures when over , people took part in the event. That year, there were around activities scheduled with an economic impact of around €70 million.

Why Gay Prides?
As mentioned in our other article about gay prides, there are many reasons why there are male lover pride events and celebrations around the world. One of the primary reasons is to celebrate and promote LGBTQ+ visibility, rights, and acceptance. Historically, the LGBTQ+ community has faced discrimination, violence, and oppression. Gay pride events, which started as protests and demonstrations for LGBTQ+ rights, were a way to challenge the status quo and demand equality and justice.
